EJ at BK11201 snapped this photo Saturday of what appears to be a yellow Department of Health violation/closure notice at La Pizzetta at 145 Atlantic Avenue.
A post on the restaurant’s Google listing exclaims:
THEY WERE CLOSED DOWN FOR HEALTH VIOLATIONS, COVERED UP THE NOTICE IN THE WINDOW AND PUT UP A SIGN SAYING THAT THEY WERE CLOSED FOR REMODELING! DO NOT EAT HERE!
A call into the restaurant today revealed that they would be open “today after 4pm.”
Update: An employee of the restaurant said that the restaurant closed on Thursday after the Department of Health said a new pipe needed to be installed for the brick oven.
DEVELOPING…

went there with my gf last week, it’s not bad….just alot of bad press. lol
No poll to determine who will return and who not? Jeeze!
Do they still charge a cork fee or do they server alcohol by now?
While I appreciate these Italian Americans setting up shop and selling their DOH’d approved tomato sauce bread to the masses. I will never quite understand why any sane person would choose this rat nest over an American franchise like The Paramount of Montague St – Five Guys. All week I look forward to my Wednesday afternoon appointment with my Little Bacon Cheeseburger inhabited with Ketchup, Mayo, Lettuce and Grilled Onions. That’s right, l-i-t-t-l-e. My wife doesn’t want no fatty! Add the possibilities of scoring the front table and stumbling across a discarded New York Daily News, and boy are we in business.
Right on David!
Once we’re rid of all the Polacks Chinks Dagos
and Jews in the neighborhood we can all get back to a good wholesome American snack at Denny’s.
I think david was being facetious.
Pizzetta is a nice place — don’t know why it gets so much slagging on here. Great pasta. Great pizza. Service is a little odd — but whatever. They serve alcohol now.
Their kitchen is open and looks clean, so I believe their story on the over. I will definitely go back.
Gotta say, those 5 Guys burgers drip more peanut oil than David’s posts drip irony. It’s a shame they’re not quite as amusing.
