This Saturday evening, March 4 the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra will perform selections from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets,” an orchestral suite in seven movements, devoted in order to Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune (we’re not sure which will be selected; Mars, Venus, and Jupiter are likely safe bets), along with Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1, featuring pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov, and William Boyce’s “Symphony in D” (we suspect this is his Symphony No. 5 in D Major, not his Symphony No. 8 in D Minor, as it’s depressing to end a concert in a minor key).
The concert will take place starting at 7:00 PM at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church, Clinton and Montague streets. You may buy tickets here.
