This weekend, from 9:45 PM Friday, November 2 to 5:00 AM Monday, November 5 there will be a do-si-do (see photo) involving A and C trains on one part and F trains on the other. Manhattan bound A and C trains will be running on the F line between Jay Street/Metro Tech and West 4th Street, while Brooklyn bound F trains will be running on the A/C line between Canal Street (Brooklyn bound F trains are being diverted to the E line between Roosevelt Avenue in Queens to Canal Street) and Jay Street. This means no Manhattan bound service at High Street; use the 2, 3, 4, or R (but see below) trains as options. There will also be no service from Manhattan to Brooklyn at York Street in DUMBO. To get to Brooklyn from the LES stops on the F, take a Manhattan bound A, C, or F to West 4th, and change there for a Brooklyn bound A or C. Meanwhile, there will be no late night service in either direction at Court Street or Jay Street, as N trains, which normally run local late, are being diverted over the Manhattan Bridge between Canal Street in Manhattan and 36th Street in Brooklyn, and R service, which originates and terminates at Whitehall Street in Manhattan during late nights, will be suspended from 11:45 PM Friday and 6:00 AM Saturday, and between 11:30 PM and 11:59 PM Saturday. To get to or from Bay Ridge during these times, transfer between the 2, 3, or 4 and the R at Atlantic Terminal, where R trains will originate and terminate. Got all that? There will be a quiz.
The following work week – Monday, November 5 through Friday, November 9, things get much simpler. There are no planned changes adversely affecting service at any local stations. Indeed, each night from 12:01 AM to 5:00 AM Tuesday through Friday there will be extra Manhattan bound service at Court Street and Jay street, as Q trains are being diverted to the R/N line during these hours.
For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, and for unplanned disruptions, see MTA Info.
