Checked out the new Pier 3 in the Park. Quite impressive overall. Hopefully, with all of the money coming in to the park now they can keep it up over time.

Can anyone recommend a good optometrist/optician in the Brooklyn Heights area? Preferably locally owned, not a chain.

I’ve been going to the same place for a few years now, but I’m just not that happy with them — they can’t seem to get either my prescription or my frame order right. I won’t name them — I’m not looking to slam anyone here — but it’s time for a change.

    Thanks in advance.

I’ve mostly used the Heights Vision Center to fill a glasses prescription, but not particularly fond of the opthamologist I’d been seeing, I went there last year for a sort of “second opinion.” Had a very good experience, as the doctor I saw not only listened to my concerns but responded to each and every one of them. She was professional and friendly. I don’t recall now if it was Dr. Patel or Dr. Nuygen. Patel, I think. (Embarrassing senior moment.)

The last time I had my vision checked there, it was done by Dr. Patel. She is very good.

So long as he doesn’t lie, he’s got no problems.

Disgusting. Not only do these cowards have to take every little slight that fractures their ego to the nth degree, they also don’t even know how to fight without a gun or other weapon. So they end up injuring innocent bystanders when they unleash their foolishness…
    Cowards. Cowards. Cowards.

Bravery, cowardice: not relevant. Anger? Very. Chronic, burrowed-in. I make no apologies for their acts, of course; but moral niceties require a framework that the perpetrators don’t begin to have.

Aye, Words like “Coward” and “Hero” are so frequently misused these days…

You’re right: It’s neither cowardice nor courage. As for anger, well, lots of people are angry at what life has thrown at them, and they don’t carry and use guns.

It’s just bad parenting. People who have no self control usually have progeny with same dysfunction. (On and on, infinitum.)

It’s a little like littering. No one ever told them to keep their candy wrappers to themselves until they get to a garbage can.

Or not to urinate against an apartment building wall.
