Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

Note: Last week we posted that there would be 2 train service (but no 3 train) to and from Brooklyn this pre-holiday weekend. This was based on information on the MTA’s website at the time. The website now shows that, just like the previous two weekends (and all others until some time next year), from 11:45 PM Friday until 5:00 AM Monday 2 and 3 trains will not be going to or from Brooklyn. To make up for this, 4 and 5 trains (the 5 will be running to and from Brooklyn) will be making all 2 and 3 stops in Brooklyn, except for Clark Street, which will have no service at all. Also this weekend Brooklyn bound F trains will be diverted to the A/C line between Canal Street (F trains will be following the E line from Roosevelt Avenue in Queens to Canal) and Jay Street-Metro Tech. This means there will be no direct service to Brooklyn from the Lower East Side stations on the F: East Broadway, Delancey, and 2nd Avenue. To get to Brooklyn from these stations, take a Manhattan bound F to West 4th, and change there for an A or C to High Street or Jay Street-Metro Tech. There will also be no service from Manhattan to the York Street station in DUMBO; your best option is to take an A, C, or F to High Street and walk down the hill. Alternatively, you can take any of those trains to Jay Street and change there to a Manhattan bound F to York.

The following work week (Monday, July 3 to Friday, July 7, including the Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday) there are no planned cancellations, route diversions, or station skips directly affecting service at any local stations.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.
