This Wednesday evening, June 21 at 6:30, the Brooklyn Historical Society will present novelist Jennifer Egan (photo, at Brooklyn Book Festival, 2010), author of The Keep and A Visit From the Goon Squad and the soon to be published Manhattan Beach, leading a discussion “about Brooklyn’s waterfronts, industrial and liminal, as an inspiration to artists.” Others on the panel will be Nicki Pombier Berger, c0-founder of Underwater New York, Elizabeth Albert, author of Silent Beaches, Untold Stories: New York City’s Forgotten Waterfront, and Marilyn Symmes, curator of the exhibit Shifting Perspectives: Photographs of Brooklyn’s Waterfront at BHS’s new site in the Empire Stores in DUMBO.
