Tomorrow (Monday, July 20) at 6:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn Historical Society there will be a screening and discussion of Liza Johnson’s 2011 film Return, about a wife and mother who has come back from a tour of duty in the Middle East. David LaRocca, editor of The Philosophy of War Films will lead the discussion, joined by Iraq War veteran Phoebe Gavin, and Marine Corps veteran Edward Walsh. The event is free, but you must reserve tickets here.
On Wednesday evening, July 22, at 6:30, Randy Cohen will be at BHS to record his “Person Place Thing” radio show. His guest will be author and film critic Molly Haskell (photo). Admission is $5; free for BHS or Green-Wood members. Purchase or reserve tickets here.
