Bike enthusiasts should enjoy Tuesday evening’s program, “Wheeling Through Brooklyn’s Past With David V. Herlihy, ” which starts at 6:30 at the Brooklyn Historical Society.
In celebration of National Bike Month, join the author of Bicycle: The History and The Lost Cyclist for a look back at Brooklyn’s rich and colorful legacy of cycling clubs and culture. From the “South Brooklyn Wheelmen” to the “Whirling Dervishes,” Brooklyn has long been a hotbed of cycling. Learn all about it and make your head spin! Offered in partnership with the New York Cycle Club.

Part 2 of “Brooklyn Collecting Brooklyn: Coney Island!” will take place on Thursday evening, May 20, starting at 6:30, at the Brooklyn Public Library Central Library, Grand Army Plaza. There you can see BPL’s archival collection of Coney Island related memorabilia. Admission is free, but you must reserve tickets here.
