Update: Channel 12 will have coverage of the case this evening (Friday, May 22) at 6:30 and 10:00.
New York Supreme Court Justice Lawrence Knipel yesterday extended the temporary restraining order prohibiting construction work on the southern (“Parcel B”) portion of the Pierhouse structure (the part nearest the Brooklyn Heights Promenade) that would cause the structure to exceed the 55 foot height limit set by the General Project Plan and the Environmental Impact Statement. The TRO will remain in effect until the court renders its decision on Save The View Now’s petition for a declaratory judgment. It does not affect work on lower portions of the Parcel B building, or on the Parcel A building to the north. Justice Knipel said he anticipates his decision to come in not more than 45 days, and promised, “You won’t be kept waiting.” There are more details in this Eagle story.
