Injured Hawk Sighted In Brooklyn Heights

An injured hawk was spotted today by Twitter user @eas211. We had this exchange with him regarding the sighting:

    New York State list of wildlife rehabilitators lists this person in Brooklyn as licensed to take hawks. These birds are a protected species.

    Take the bird to the Wild Bird Fund on upper west side
    565 Columbus Av between 87 and 88 St. 646 306-2862 They are an all volunteer group of specialists in rehabilitating injured wild birds, especially raptors. I took a bird there last summer. I gave them $ but it’s not a requirement. They are so busy, that if you call they may not return your call soon. So please if you manage to capture the injured falcon, just get on the train to the upper west side.
