The NY Daily News reports that the Montague Street branch of Housing Works grossed over $1 million in the last year:
NY Daily News: Brooklyn Heights Thrift Store…: In a time when many Brooklyn businesses’ revenues are plummeting, Housing Works Thrift President Richard Vorisek said the recession is working in the shop’s favor.
“People are looking for ways to spruce up their wardrobe and not have to spend a ton of money,” he said. “The idea of being thrifty, as opposed to cheap, drives people into our stores.
“If you’ve got style and taste and you want some quality, we’re the best option in town.”
