On Friday, Brooklyn Heights Cinema, 70 Henry Street (corner of Orange) will begin showing Stand Up Guys, starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Alan Arkin as a group of aging mobsters who get together for one last job. Throwaway factoid: Arkin was once a member, along with Erik Darling and Bob Carey, of the 1950s folk group The Tarriers, who had a pre-Belafonte hit with “The Banana Boat Song.” The Cinema will also be showing Silver Linings Playbook and Promised Land. Showtimes are here.
The Brooklyn Historical Society will present a tour of its historic building at 128 Pierrepont Street (corner of Clinton) starting at 3:00 p.m. Saturday (note: the BHS home page says 1:00, but the linked calendar page gives the correct starting time of 3:00). Details are here.
Bargemusic has no scheduled programming this weekend, but will resume with concerts on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th. More details in next week’s LMWS.
Don’t forget the Grace Church Winterfair this Saturday.
