Yet again we are blessed with no planned suspensions or diversions (although you might consider this diverting) that directly affect service at any local stations this weekend, unless you’re a G train masoch…errr…enthusiast, in which case your local station is Hoyt-Schermerhorn, and there will be no service between there and Church Avenue. Take the F instead. G train service from Hoyt-Schermerhorn to Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and other points north should (with the G that’s always a necessary qualification) be running normally, and we know that’s the direction you want to go, hipster. Like the last two weekends, there are some changes that will affect travel to or from Brooklyn beyond the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center and Franklin Avenue stations on the 2, 3 and 4 lines; for details check MTA Info or the Weekender.
The following week, Monday to Friday, January 14 to 19, from 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Brooklyn bound A trains will be diverted to the F line between West 4th Street and Jay Street-Metro Tech. As there’s no C service during these hours, there will be no service from Manhattan to High Street (although there will be from High Street to Manhattan) at these times. Use York Street or Jay Street instead, or transfer to a Manhattan bound A at Jay Street and ride it to High Street. On these same dates at the same hours, Manhattan bound service at Court Street will be via the Q instead of the N, which normally replaces the R at these times. You may transfer between the Q and the N at Canal Street.
