Tomorrow evening (Friday, February 25), First Presbyterian Church, 124 Henry Street (just south of Clark), will host the premiere concert in the Music at First series for 2011, featuring pianist David Friend doing a set called “Radical Keyboards”, which includes the world premiere of a work by Angélica Negrón, and singer Corey Dargel, who will perform his art/pop-song cycle “Hold Yourself Together” accompanied by James Moore (guitars) and Wil Smith (synths). The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.; admission is $10.
As we noted before, the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street (corner of Clinton), is having a Brooklyn Dodgers film festival in conjunction with their exhibit “Home Base: Memories of the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field”, which closes after April 24. This Saturday’s movie offering is The Life of Jackie Robinson. The screening begins at 2:00 p.m. The movie is free with museum admission, which is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, children over 12 (under 12 are free) and teachers, and free for BHS members.
