Today and next Sunday, Montague Street between Clinton and Hicks, is closed off to vehicles for the annual Summer Space pedestrian plaza event. Local arts groups and non-profits offer the community free activities and events, and Montague businesses hold sidewalk sales and promotions. The weather seems to have put a damper on things so far, as the street has been fairly quiet. Perhaps pedestrians are engrossed at the Brooklyn Book Fair, just a few blocks away?
Next Sunday, September 19th, will be family and games centered– filled with free health and fitness classes from Dodge YMCA, a neighborhood dog show from the Brooklyn Heights Association, and fun and games like chalk art, bubbles, and hula hoops. Maybe next weekend the weather will offer a better outdoor event environment.
