The Brooklyn Paper, long known as the borough’s favorite free newspaper may soon start charging for access to its website if new owner Rupert Murdoch gets his way.
The Financial Times of London reported today that the News Corp chairman stated, “We intend to charge for all our news websites… If we’re successful, we’ll be followed by all media.”
The Brooklyn Paper was purchased by a subsidiary of News Corp, the Community News Group, earlier this year. When asked if he would like to comment on this story, B’Paper editor-in-chief Gersh Kuntzman told BHB, “No.”
Note: We apologize for any confusion regarding Mr. Kuntzman’s response. Blame it on the double lattes this reporter has been guzzling.
