A new summer music series outside the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn on Henry Street has at least one neighbor upset.
Reader Azaro Mendoza writes:
The ceremony involved several live singers and an amplified combo, and was intrusively audible at least half a block away, where I live. I hasten to mention that I enjoy music in appropriate environments and usually value having the Presbyterian Church as a neighbor. But I also work at home– as a writer and journalist– and feel I should be able to do so in peace and quiet. I don’t believe that anyone making such a loud, intrusive noise would be welcome on Henry Street, even those engaged in public Christian worship.
A call to the church confirmed there are no plans to put a halt on the series, which will run Thursdays at 7 p.m. until the end of August. Did you hear the concert last night? Anyone else bothered by the noise?
