Christmas Eve Horror at High Street: Four Passengers Injured by Track Fire

Early Christmas Eve, as Mary Frost in the Eagle reports (see Mary’s linked story for photos taken at the scene), a “fire caused by debris broke out on the tracks” at the High Street station just as a train was arriving. FDNY units responded quickly, passengers were evacuated, and four were “transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.” The incident “clos[ed] down Cadman Plaza West and High Street station for more than an hour.” The cause of the fire “remains under ivestigation, according to the FDNY.” According to the MTA website, while there is a late night re-routing of Manhattan bound A trains to the F line planned before the fire, so no late night Manhattan bound service at High Street, as C trains do not serve Brooklyn late at night, there is no continuing disruption of service because of the fire.
