Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Ninth “Choral” Symphony has been called by Tom Service in The Guardian as:
[A]rguably the central artwork of Western music: it is as much of a challenge now as it was in 1824 to its listeners, to performers, and to every composer who has written a symphony since.
The Ninth will be performed this coming Saturday evening at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church by the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra along with the Grace Chorale of Brooklyn. Following the Ninth, the Chamber Orchestra will present the world premiere of the full symphony orchestra version of Seth Grosshandler’s “Cayuga Overture”. The orchestra will be conducted by Phillip Nuzzo.
The concert begins at 7:00 PM. You may buy tickets here.
