If, like me, you were wondering why the fireworks tonight, even though they weren’t listed on the City’s official fireworks site, I noticed they were coming from the direction of the South Street Seaport. I checked South Street’s website and found that they were part of the 35th annual Deepavali Festival, presented by the Association of Indians in America. The fireworks were scheduled to start at 7:15. Possibly because of weather, they didn’t start until about 9:00.
