The Friends of Jane’s Carousel have declared Saturday, May 7 to be “Jane’s Carousel Day” celebrating the Carousel’s 100th anniversary since its construction by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for Idora Park in Youngstown, Ohio. When Idora Park closed and sold off its rides, Developer David Walentas and his wife, Jane, bought it for Brooklyn Bridge Park. It now sits in the Park between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.
