The Repast Baroque Ensemble returns to the First Unitarian Church, McKinney Chapel, 121 Pierrepont Street (between Monroe Place and Clinton Street) this Thursday evening, starting at 7:30 PM. This concert, “The Music of Drury Lane,” features songs by eighteenth century British composers that were used to enliven a revival of Shakespeare’s plays staged at the Drury Lane Theater in London. Adding music to the plays made Drury Lane something of a precursor to Broadway. Repast will be joined by guest musicians tenor Rufus Müller (photo), violinist Theresa Salomon, and violist Jessica Troy.
All those attending the concert must wear masks and present proof of vaccination on entry. The musicians are all fully vaccinated. You may purchase tickets here, or pay with cash or card at the door.
