Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

Update: according to Notify NYC (or look out your window), “Due to heavy snowfall, expect delays & service changes on MTA train service system-wide in NYC.” This weekend — late Friday evening, January 29 to early Monday morning, January 31 — in addition to the ongoing closure of the Clark Street station and no late night C service, there are no planned subway service changes directly affecting service at local stations. Those traveling to or from Brooklyn should know that Saturday from early morning to late evening, and late Sunday evening, 4 trains will replace 3 trains in both directions between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and New Lots Avenue.

The following week — early morning Monday, January 31 through late evening Friday, February 4 — there are no planned service changes directly affecting service at any local stations.

These are the planned service changes directly affecting service at local stations. Always check MTA Info for unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling. Keep in mind that COVID-19 has affected many MTA crew members, and winter weather has been a factor as well, so that unplanned changes may be frequent.

There are too many sidewalks in the heights that have not been shoveled and – the heated sidewalks on a few of the houses did not work with that much snow – they worked on the stoops, but not on the walks. If you buy a corner house, you should realize that you will have a “more than double” sidewalk that needs to be shoveled when it snows. The corner houses are often the worst.

Good observation, Lois. This comment doesn’t relate to Subway Service Alerts; I think you may have meant to post it to Open Thread Wednesday.

Last Wednesday had passed, this Wednesday has come yet, so I figured I would post it here. By Wednesday, hopefully, the sidewalks will be in better condition either from owners or rising temperatures.

Thanks; I understand. We generally try to keep comments on point to the top post, but I understand your logic.
