Packer Presents: Under the Gaslight

This Thursday and Friday (5/14,15) at 6:30pm and Saturday at 10am, the middle school at Packer Collegiate Institute presents Under the Gaslight.

A depiction of the life and times in 1867’s New York, Under the Gaslight by Augustine Daly, has been adapted for Packer Middle School students by Dinah Gravel. Join us for some old fashioned thrills for the whole family! Evil plots will be foiled, and secrets revealed. Come cheer the heroes, and boo the villains!

* Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.,
* Friday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m.,
* Saturday, May 16 at a new time – 10:00 a.m.

Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults and will be available mornings before classes starting Wednesday, May 6.

    An excerpt from McLaughlins future review: “the middle schoolers couldn’t fully understand the complexities of adults in 1867 New York. Too ambitious! I left the theater honestly believing none of them had even stepped foot in New York City, circa 1867. It was like a middle school production done by 12 year olds. One of the actors, Little Billy Smith, was so distracting and awful because his voice kept cracking when he spoke. Voice cracking?! I immediately demanded my 6 dollars back.”
