Fireworks Tonight to Celebrate 70% Vaccination Rate – Tuesday 6/15 at 9:15 p.m.

To celebrate the milestone of 70% of New York adults receiving at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, the Governor’s office announced a fireworks display in 10 locations throughout the state tonight, including the New York Harbor. According to the New York Post, the fireworks will be visible from the Promenade starting at 9:15 p.m.

The Empire State Building will also be lit up for the occasion.

Also, effective immediately, all state-mandated restrictions are lifted in commercial and social settings.

See you on the promenade with chins out!

    Surprised the Empire State Building would parrot Cuomo’s spin. We’re not 70% vaccinated – 70% of adults have received one dose. 50% of the population is *fully* vaccinated. At any rate, protect your pets’ hearing tonight.

    I know it sometimes feels unpleasant to wear a mask but to juxtapose mask-wearing with “life” is a bit extreme. Here we are, after all, survivors.

    If the 600,000 deaths are honored by the off-chance prevention of a single headcold transmission, I’d wear my mask inside of bodegas or whatever for the rest of my life.

    Indeed. Worth noting that in Japan, people have long worn masks in public. I somehow doubt they don’t feel they’re living their lives because of that.
