This Friday evening, October 4 at 7:00, Bargemusic will present a concert by pianist Olga Vinokur in honor of the 90th birthday of composer George Crumb (photo). The concert will include Crumb’s “Makrokosmos Book 1″ for amplified piano, along with works by Aaron Jay Kernis, Debussy, Bartok, and Scriabin.
On Saturday evening, October 5 at 6:00, Ms. Vinokur, joined by David Kalhous, will perform four-handed piano renditions of works by Kurtag, Schubert, Brahms, Rihm, and Dvorak.
On Sunday afternoon, October 6 at 4:00 Ms. Vinokur returns to play works by Scarlatti, Chopin, Medtner, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninoff.
On Saturday afternoon, September 28 at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, details here. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.
