This Thursday evening, May 9 at 8:00 p.m., at the McKinney Chapel of the First Unitarian Church. 116 Pierrepont Street, the Repast Baroque Ensemble will present “The Curious Inventions of Biagio Marini,” featuring works by that seventeenth century Italian composer, along with works by Dario Castello.
Marini’s music was considered to be avant garde in his time. Repast presents this audacious and innovative 17th Century repertoire with an ensemble that includes the dulcian (the early bassoon), theorbo (a large lute), 2 violins, a portative organ, and cello.
There’s more information here and you may purchase tickets here. The McKinney Chapel is wheelchair accessible.
