Bargemusic’s weekend starts early, on Thursday evening, September 27 at 7:00 when pianist Gloria Cheng (photo) plays a series of short pieces, “Garlands for Steven Stucky” written by many contemporary composers in memory of one who died in 2016, at the height of his career, and concluding with one piece by Stucky himself. On Friday evening, September 28 at 8:00, violist Andrew Gonzalez and pianist Carlos Avila will play works by Bach and Rachmaninoff.
On Saturday evening, September 29 at 6:00 and again on Sunday afternoon, September 30 at 4:00 a quartet led by Bargemusic’s Artistic Director Mark Peskanov on violin, will perform works by Schubert, Schumann, and Mozart.
On Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, details here. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.
