Bargemusic’s weekend begins Friday evening, September 8 at 8:00 with a mix of baroque and modern, including works by J.S. Bach, Paul Schoenfield, Cesar Cui, Mark Wilson, and Manuel de Falla, performed by Martha Aarons on flute, Lev Polyakin on violin, and Rita Sloan on piano.
On Saturday evening, September 9 at 8:00, pianist Marika Bournaki (photo), who denies being a rock star, will play works by Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin, and Ravel.
Sunday afternoon, September 10 at 2:00, and again at 4:00, violinist Mark Peskanov and pianist Jeffrey Swann will present the fourth in their “Tale of Two Titans” series of concerts, featuring works by Handel and Beethoven.
There will be two memorial concerts on Monday evening, September 11, one at 7:00 and one at 8:30. These will be free; first come, first seated. Doors for the 7:00 concert open at 6:45, and for the 8:30 concert at 8:15.
There are details for each concert and you may buy tickets here. On Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.
