Tree Lighting Wednesday Evening

The tree is up, and lighted at night, but the official lighting of the Brooklyn Heights Holiday Tree, sponsored by the Brooklyn Heights Garden Club, will take place this Wednesday evening, December 14, at 5:30. Thanks to the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange we have this message from former Heights resident and Exchange volunteer Liz Tedford, now living in Dorset, England: “I wanted to alert all of you that my son, Finlay and his UK school touring choir will be singing at the Brooklyn Heights tree lighting on Wednesday, December 14th at 5:30pm – I really hope all or many of you will be able to join us then.”

    I missed this last year, but have made a note to be there.

    I escaped the stench and memories of 9/11 by spending New Year’s Eve 2001 in Lyme Regis, Dorset, during which trip I also saw Chesil Beach, the antique stores and memorable pubs of Bridport and the steep cobbled streets of Dorchester. I envy Liz Tedford!
