Bargemusic Says: Celebrate New Year’s Eve With “Big Daddy” Bach

On Thursday evening, December 31, starting at 7:30 Bargemusic will present a New Year’s Eve Celebration featuring its President, Executive and Artistic Director Mark Peskanov on violin and Steven Beck (not Beck Hanson) on piano, performing sonatas by J.S. Bach (image). Considered by many the greatest composer in the Western canon, Bach was a cat who could swing. Tickets are $100.00 ($104.49 w/service fee) and can be purchased here.

On New Year’s Day (Friday, January 1) at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, January 2 at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, January 3 at 4:00 p.m.; and Monday, January 4 at 8:00 p.m. there will be a “Here and Now Winter Festival” featuring works, many world and the others New York premieres, of works by contemporary composers, performed by many superb musicians. Tickets for each concert are $35.00 ($37.22 w/service fee) general admission; seniors $30.00 ($32.04 w/service fee); students $15.00 ($16.52 w/service fee) and can be purchased here.

Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.
