A judge ruled yesterday that the Brooklyn House of Detention could reopen, but that decision clearly isn’t sitting well with the Stop BHoD group.
The group, and Councilmembers David Yassky and Letitia James, will host a rally on the City Hall steps at 11:30 am to call on the city to reconsider its decision. Then, at 1 pm, the Department of Correction will present its preliminary budget at a City Hall hearing and will discuss their plans to spend $1.2 billion on new jail construction.
