Last Minute Weekend Suggestions: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

The Heights Players continues its 60th year “Diamond Anniversary” season with its production of Mame this weekend. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17, and at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Playhouse, 26 Willow Place (between Joralemon and State). There’s more information here and you can reserve tickets here. Mame will be around for one more weekend (October 23-25).

On Friday evening at 8:00 Bargemusic will present pianist Sara Davis Buechner playing works by Mozart. On Saturday evening at 8:00 and again on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 Mark Peskanov on violin and Nina Kogan on piano will perform All Beethoven Sonatas for violin and Piano in Two Concerts, Part II. Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated. Don’t forget the Family Volunteer Day at Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday, and on Sunday you may take a free guided Brooklyn Bridge Park tour by going to the Pier 1 entrance near the foot of Old Fulton Street at 11:00 a.m.

Also, don’t forget the free staged reading of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons at St. Francis College Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
