This sounds worth attending. Remember that there were similar meetings a decade ago when Brooklyn Bridge Park was preparing to give up its land to high-rise development. The neighborhood was asleep at the switch then (at least to some extent) and look how that has panned out…Now’s the time when a fuss is needed over the 40-story high-rise that will change the face of this area for decades to come.

EVERYONE should show up. No excuses. If you don’t think it matters how many show up at a key legal proceeding you have no bkgrnd in litigation….it DOES matter in many ways. A lot of nonsense just stops or is greatly reduced when all three sides know that there are a larger number of observers present. And, no matter the actual outcome. If ”certain parties” see a larger turnout at these kind of events it IS a real deturrent going forward. For example, you just DON’T see a lot of the wild west practices among RE developers you did in the 1970’s Manhattan because of shockwaves of neighborhood activism in the years since…
and that included strong resident attendance in court.
