Garden Party At Poplar Street Saturday

We got word of this too late for the Last Minute Weekend Suggestions, but tomorrow–Saturday, June 20– there will be a gardening party at the Poplar Street Community Garden, at the corner of Poplar and Hicks streets, starting at noon. Come to help with gardening work or just to relax and enjoy the garden.

    This tiny garden has always seemed to me to be so intensively cultivated as if in opposition to the roar of the passing BQE traffic just feet away. By concentrating on the greenery, bees and growth here, the city seems to drop away from your thoughts.
