Tomorrow evening (Friday, March 13) at 8:00 Bargemusic will present a “Here and Now” concert featuring bass trombonist Dave Taylor (photo) and friends. On Saturday evening at 8:00 the Dorian Wind Quintet will play works by Bach, Perle, and Dvorak. On Sunday afternoon at 4:00 the Alaria Chamber Ensemble will perform works by Haydn, Faure, and Brahms. There’s more information and buy tickets here. Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.
The Heights Players production of Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth continues with Performances on Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m., at the Playhouse, 26 Willow Place. The play will continue through the following weekend, March 20-22 on the same schedule. You may make reservations here. On Saturday at noon and again at 2:00 p.m. the Heights Players will present Snow White, a participation play for children. Tickets are $6; email theaterforchildren@heightsplayers.org for reservations. Snow White will play again the following Saturday at the same times.
On Sunday afternoon at 3:00 the Brooklyn Historical Society continues its celebration of Women’s History Month with a screening of Su Freidrich’s film Gut Renovation, a documentary about the gentrification of Williamsburg. The film is being screened each Sunday in March at the same time. Admission is free with museum admission (free for BHS or Green-Wood Cemetery members).
