Manhole Cover Blowouts in Cobble Hill; Any in Brooklyn Heights?

A reader reports two manhole cover blowouts in Cobble Hill, on Pacific Street between Clinton and Henry, this (Monday, February 9) morning. “Lots of loud popping and shouting, now we are without power and it is getting cold in our houses.” she adds. Any similar incidents in Brooklyn Heights?

    There have been police, electrical and fire trucks – including a blocked off Court Street (pedestrians and traffic going north) since about 7:30 this am. Could this be a similar problem?

    There were reports of some blown manhole covers in Dumbo too.
