While the we mourned the loss of music legend Tommy Ramone this week, it’s great to see that Brooklyn Heights’ own Ramone – Marky – was spreading the love at Sociale on Henry Street.
According to Tony Edward, who lives on Hicks Street, the former drummer for The Ramones walked in with three friends and took in a leisurely supper. Mr. Edwards patiently waited until until Mr. Ramone finished his meal and then successfully solicited a selfie with a member of the iconic New York punk rock ensemble.

Marky, the longest tenured non-founding member, was The Ramones drummer for 15 years and in 2002 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his brethren.
In addition to his work with The Ramones, Marky—born Marc Steven Bell—has also performed with other legendary New York alternative rock groups including Richard Hell & the Voidoids and Wayne County and the Backstreet Boys.
According to Mr. Edwards, Marky “was very nice and seemed like a cool guy.”
This follows a BHB spotting in May of Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro at Sociale.
