Mary Frost of the Brooklyn Eagle reported Monday afternoon that a man’s body pulled from the East River at the southern end of Brooklyn Bridge Park early Monday morning was still unidentified, according to the New York Police Department.

The NYPD’s Harbor Unit responded at roughly 6:30 a.m. to a call regarding the sighting near Atlantic Avenue, a police spokesperson told the Brooklyn Eagle.

The Harbor Unit pulled a man who appears to be in his 20s out of the water. He was pronounced dead on shore and transported to the Medical Examiner, according to police.
