The Brooklyn Heights Cinema will have its premiere showing of They Came Together, starring Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd tomorrow (Friday, June 27). The Cinema will also be showing Ida and Words and Pictures. On Sunday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. there will be a special showing of “Cartoon Cryptozoologist” Tom Stathes’ Cartoons on Film. On Friday evening at 7:00, Bargemusic will present pianist Tanya Gabrielian playing works by Handel/Liszt, Haydn, Arturo Cardelus, Rachmaninoff, and Falla. Saturday evening’s concert, also at 7:00, features works by Boccherini and Schubert performed by Mark Peskanov and Sarah Vonsattel on violin, Vivek Kamath on viola, and Jerry Grossman and Wendy Sutter on cello. On Sunday afternoon at 4:00 Stewart Goodyear will perform the second in a series of concerts presenting all 32 piano sonatas of Beethoven. There’s more information and buy tickets here. Saturday afternoon at 3:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert. Doors open at 2:30; first come, first seated. Yes, the barge is air conditioned.
Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier Kids series presents Mister G on Pier 1 Sunday from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. The event is free. Also on Sunday Smorgasburg will be on the Pier 5 uplands (near the Joralemon Street entrance) Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and, starting at noon, there will be a free Docent Tour of Pier 1.
