New Year’s Shenanigans or Blizzard Prep?

A tipster known as Gracie Court sent us this photo that she took on Joralemon and Garden Place. Anyone know whose bike this is?

Looks like they lifted the bikes in order to do cement work on the sidewalk

They did the same thing to a bike on Willow Street corner of Pierrepont when they were fixing the sidewalk. I was wondering how the owner was going to get it back down.

It’s actually pretty smart. Other option is to cut the lock which would make the bike owner even more mad.

definitely. it’s actually not legal for the city (or anyone else) to remove the a chained bike unless it meets certain criteria. http://www1.nyc.gov/nyc-resources/service/1191/bicycle-chained-to-public-property

Interesting page. I never knew the requirements as to how the city takes bikes away. I always see bikes around that are beat up taking up biking spots..glad there is a place to report this.

    Thanks.
