The Brooklyn Women’s Exchange, 55 Pierrepont Street (between Henry and Hicks) will have a Holiday Preview Party this Thursday evening, November 7, from 6:00 to 8:00. All are welcome to see the Exchange’s collection of holiday goods, talk with the staff, and enjoy refreshments.
On Friday, November 8 (11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Saturday, November 9 (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), and Sunday, November 10 (10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) silhouette artist Deborah O’Connor will be performing her scissors magic at the Exchange. To make an appointment, please call (718) 624-3435.
Looking ahead to Sunday, November 17, local artist Sarah Kate Beaumont will teach a class in rag-rug weaving at the Exchange from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is an ideal class for children eight and up, but younger ones may come with a supervising adult. There’s a $10 fee, and you should bring a laundered sheet for use in rug-making (but if you can’t spare one, there will be a few available at the Exchange).
