Poplar Street Community Garden Needs Helpers Sunday

“Something there is”, the poet Robert Frost wrote, “that doesn’t love a wall.” Still, the herbs in the Poplar Street Community Garden need a retaining wall to recline against. So, this Sunday, October 27, starting at 1:00 p.m., head gardener Cindy Goulder will supervise the construction of said wall. It will be made of handy-sized stones that aren’t a challenge to lift. BYO gloves if you have them; otherwise, some will be available, along with tools. If work is something that interests you so much that you love to watch it, you’re welcome to come as an observer. The Garden is located “at the north end of Hicks St. where it bumps into the offramp of the BQE. Entrance is on Poplar St. just west of Hicks.”

    Entropy—entropy doesn’t love a wall. The Army doesn’t love a wall, either.

The Army loves a wall when it’s in a defensive position behind one.
