Our friends at Poplar Street Community Garden have sent us this message:
Come join in the fun, gardening with a great group of neighbors, this Saturday October 12, noon – 3pm, as we tend to the Garden’s fabulous array of perennials. We’ll trim, dig, divide, and transplant to improve the design of the Garden for next year. It’s an opportunity to become more familiar with the plants, too, their differing characteristics, qualities, uses, ecological significance, and needs. Bring your own tools or use ours. Our lead gardener Cindy Goulder will guide.
The Poplar Street Community Garden is located at the north end of Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights, where it bumps into the offramp of the BQE. The Garden entrance is on Poplar Street, just west of Hicks. For more information, contact us at poplargarden@gmail.com – and visit our Facebook page. See you in the Garden!
