This just in — Judge Johnny Lee Baynes has just issued another restraining order barring any further action on the LICH closure plan!

An excellent ad! Bravo Cobble Hill Association for undertaking this effort. Where are our elected officials? Why aren’t they paying for this kind of thing? Shame, shame, shame. People will die on the way to Methodist or Brooklyn Hospital from Red Hook or Carroll Gardens.

    That’s great.

Some of our elected officials have been doing plenty on behalf of LICH and Brooklyn healthcare in general — in the State Assembly and elsewhere. Just to name a few, Daniel Squadron, Joan Millman, Steve Levin, and others — google them and you’ll see.

excellent video. very realistic. would be great if it could be shown on the NY1 equivalent channel in ALBANY!

The judge’s decision is great news. But it is only the beginning of what needs to be done to keep LICH open. For those who might not have read how much SUNY is responsible for the problems at LICH, this is interesting reading:

Remsen: The politicians demagogue about stuff after the fact. Where were they in October when this decision was made? Squadron knew about it then (told doctors at a fundraiser in the Heights about it) and did nothing. Now at the 11th hour he is “on it”. The point is, he should be putting money into the airing of this tv commercial now, too – why do taxpayers who depend on the hospital have to spend their money to air advertising, or even have to create an ad, to get the attention of the Governor? For the state reps to rail against this debacle now is besides the point. Where were they when it mattered, months ago? Nowhere, that’s where.

If you want to rail against all your elected officials, that’s your prerogative. I would rather appreciate all of their good efforts, which I have witnessed personally at forums, community meetings, in Albany, going to Purchase, NY and actually watching State Assembly meetings. I am actively working on saving our hospital, LICH — what are you doing?

is this true??? “in October when this decision was made? Squadron knew about it then (told doctors at a fundraiser in the Heights about it) and did nothing”

What reason would he have to do nothing about it & why would the doctors that supposedly were tipped off not say anything to their colleagues at the hospital to head this off at the pass?

Hard to believe this is true. Someone should ask him.
