Brooklyn Heights Blogger’s Home Featured in Elle Decor

Elle Decor features a great spread on Remodelista founder Francesca Connolly’s Montague Terrace home:

Elle Decor: When it came time for Francesca Connolly to design the interior of the Brooklyn brownstone she shares with her husband and three children, she didn’t think twice about hiring out the job. Which wouldn’t be all that unusual if she weren’t one of the most sophisticated design voices of the decade. As a founder of Remodelista, the mother of all home-renovation websites, known for its exquisite curation of everything from door hinges and drawer pulls to sectional sofas and side tables, Connolly is endowed with serious design cred.

So why would she tap architect Steven Harris and interior designer Lucien Rees Roberts for the project? Harris puts it best: “We work with a variety of people, many of whom are quite naïve, others who are extraordinarily sophisticated, like Francesca—and, in her case, the collaboration was very fruitful,” he says. “She has a gift for bringing out the very best in the people who work with her.”

Apparently the fish violations happened 6 1/2 years ago.
I don’t understand why you would publish a nice piece about this couples beautiful home and then follow up with a link to a negative story that is almost seven years old.

  • Arch Stanton

So what if it was years ago, the crime was disgusting (dealing in flesh from endangered species), The “couples beautiful home” is built on blood money, despicable.

why was my first comment deleted? i also commented on the inappropriateness of the old link.

  • travy

and if you read the link it was an expired permit issue. not defending someone i don’t even know but this was lame.

  • Arch Stanton

If you read the link, you would know the expired permits were only part of the offense. Agger was also in possession of illegal shark fins from endangered species. In case you don’t know, Shark finning is a brutal practice where the fins are cut off of live sharks

  • MonroeOrange

$750,000 fine…you know you were involved in some awful stuff to have that kind of fine levied against you!…im sure they are so proud to know have everybody know this information about them…they should be careful when they go swimming…Sharks have a good memory!

Travy – if a comment is “flagged as inappropriate” enough times it gets moderated by the system.
