Fall Colors in Brooklyn Heights

The deciduous trees in the Catskills are already bare, but here in the Heights the peak of foliage season comes later. As I walked around the neighborhood this past weekend, I photographed some examples. Above (click on photo to enlarge) is a portion of the Promenade gardens between Clark and Pierrepont streets. More photos and text after the jump.

Asters, Remsen Street entrance to Promenade.

World War II Memorial, Cadman Plaza Park.

Tillary Street.

Pier 6, Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Window box, 85 Remsen Street.

Front garden, 57 Middagh Street.

James Weir Floral Company, Montague Street. Note the wreath of ripe chilies over the door.

Roses next to the path between the foot of Middagh Street and Columbia Heights. This is near the site of the famous February House.
