Cops say that a mother having a supervised visit with her identical twin nine-year-old daughters disappeared with the kids from the Catholic Charities building at 191 Joralemon Street earlier tonight.

Channel 4 should have a story on at 11. The report from 1010 WINS:

Police were searching for twin 9-year-old girls Thursday after they were apparently kidnapped by their mother during a supervised visit in Brooklyn Heights.

The mother, who is described by police as “mentally ill,” slipped the girls out of a Catholic Charities center at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when the supervisor of the visit walked away.

The family has been meeting three times a week for the last year under supervised care, police said.

The girls were last seen wearing plaid school uniforms and blue tights, according to police. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the NYPD.

The Daily News picks up the story today, too.

shows you we should be more worried about the crazy people who live around us than the people on Federal probation.

alternatively we could live in a high-security compound with guard towers and kleig lights.

Very sad. Do we have more about what the girls look like? Plaid uniforms isn’t a lot to go on…
