NY Daily News Covers Dimples Kids Spa

It was back in August when we first got word that a Kids Spa was coming to 91 Montague Street.  Dimples Kids Spa opened recently and the NY Daily News stopped by this week:

NY Daily News: Tot Get…: “She likes to be treated like a grown-up,” Laura Paragallo, 39, said of 4-year-old daughter Sofia. Or at least a princess.

“It’s like Cinderella,” Sofia chimed in.

“Oh my God!” exclaimed Petal Modeste, 36, when she walked in with her not-yet-2 daughter Amelie to get a manicure. “That’s fantastic!”

Modeste said her toddler has such a busy schedule – swimming lessons, French lessons, applying for pre-school – she deserves a little pampering.

“This is her first manicure – that’s so funny!” she laughed.

“I don’t think it’s overpriced. We’re not going to do it every week – maybe once a month…It’s a treat.”

I’d pay any amount of money for my son to get a manicure. I have to wrestle him to the floor to cut his nails. I wonder how he’d do in a ‘spa’. I suspect we’d be encouraged to take our business elsewhere.

Oh relax, it’s a birthday party place. Maybe they’ll do a few haircuts on the side.

I’m 30 and have never had a manicure. Does that make me abnormal? I mean, if it is laughable that a 2-year-old is having her first…

r – doesn’t make you abnormal at all if you’re a huge Ellen and Melissa fan.

a 2 year old needs pampering? Maybe a little free time to play and get dirty might be more appropriate. well, at least it’s a local business, right?
