I checked the place out last Saturday. The bedrooms were very small. They were originally offering rentals starting April 1, but that didn’t happen. There was still a lot of construction going on April 7th and I could not look at all the available apartments because of the work going on. There are three “leftover” tenants in the building who are staying on (the two rent control and one rent stabilized units).

    Looks very Home Depot.

How does a realtor say it has a new kitchen and bath, but not show any photos of it? That is a great way to market an apartment, let me tell you.

    “161 Heights”? Really?

Yes, the name “161 Heights” is a bit… presumptuous? But then, “161 Columbia Heights, That’s Heights, Not Place, Not Street” might sound defensive. 161 is not a prime number, or they could have gone with “The Primelyn”. (A really daring name would have been “7 x 23″. But this isn’t Manhattan.)

Maybe a historically JW property should simply be called “The Friedrich”. It sounds dignified to my ears, anyway.

I guess that it makes sense not to release pictures of kitchens and baths n the final stages of renovation…

Over-sized windows. As opposed to … what? Obviously have to be big enough to let those photons in…

Anyone check out the floor plans for the 1-bedroom apartments? You have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom!
